Graduate Diversity, Recruitment and Retention

Greetings and Welcome to the University of Delaware’s Graduate Ambassador Connect Program! One of the major areas UD has been focusing on is recruiting and retaining a diverse student body. It is our hope as a University to give our students an exceptional globally-representative environment where all students can learn, change, and grow. One of our goals is to help graduate students become influential leaders within their fields of studies and advanced global citizens giving back to others as they climb mountains.

Our major intended outcomes include: increasing graduate enrollment, retention rates, and graduation rates; facilitating a positive learning and working environment; and building inclusive excellence within our graduate student experience. Students will in turn experience a myriad of personal and academic achievement as well as appreciate the UD experience as a whole with a greater level of satisfaction.

Our Graduate Ambassador Connect Program supports these efforts. Returning graduate students, known as Graduate Ambassadors, are the heart and soul of this amazing program. Besides planning great events and stimulating graduate student life, these Graduate Ambassadors are also wonderful campus tour guides and mentors to new graduate students. Please reach out to our Graduate Ambassadors, if you are need of a campus tour, have any questions/concerns, and/or want to make a new friend. You can reach them at GradAmbassadors@udel.edu.

Remember, the “Connect” program is here for you. Join us now and learn more about our programming and mentoring opportunities. Once you get involved and stay connected you will find greater value in your graduate experiences as a master’s or doctoral student! Cheers to a great year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Talia Coleman
