David Bonior was elected to the Michigan State Legislature in 1972 and served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1976 to 2002. Bonior served as Democratic whip from 1991 to 2002, making him one of the highest-ranking Democrats in the House. As a member of the advisory board of the Mikva Challenge in Washington, D.C., he works to engage students in civic action.
Mike Castle served as Delaware’s Governor from 1985 to 1992 and as the U.S. Representative for Delaware’s at-large congressional district from 1993 to 2011. Castle was president of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a group of centrist Republican members of Congress, and was the co-chair of several congressional caucuses.
The National Agenda “As We Stand, Divided” speaker series is hosted by the Center for Political Communication. It is held at the University of Delaware’s Mitchell Hall on these Wednesday evenings: September 6, September 20, October 4, October 18, November 1, and November 15.
